Everything about Helltown Kitchen was amazing! The food was so impressive! The Chef’s blending of flavors, textures, and just the right amount of spicy heat was spot on! We were blown away, from cocktails to dessert! The entire wait staff was top notch! Bravo! And thank you!

We booked a table for Friday, Sept 2. When we arrived we were seated at an indoor table and shortly after we placed orders for cocktails, an appetizer and our meals . After a bit of a wait the appetizer arrived along with some bread. The cocktails came a few minutes later. Shortly afterward the empty appetizer dishes were scooped up along with the bread which we had hardly touched. Our dinners finally came about an hour after our appetizer had been consumed. During the course of the wait we were assured a number of times that we were next to be served. However we clearly kept seeing others who arrived after we did, eating the same dinner selection we had ordered. One couple, who arrived after us, was served the same dinner we ordered, finished it and left before ours ever came to the table. Finally my dinner compainion asked one of the waitstaff if we were going to be served that evening. We received our meals about 5 minutes after that. When we finished our meals we did not choose to order desserts. The waiter brought us a sample of cheesecake, at no cost, to share. He told us that a large group had come to the restaurant before we got there and that the kitchen was having trouble keeping up. The food was excellent but the wait for our dinners was not acceptable. If a restaurant can’t handle large parties then it shouldn’t seat them. And certainly, it would have been nice if they had offered us a courtesy cocktail or glass of wine for our trouble. As much as we enjoy the food at Helltown I doubt I will be able to get my dinner companion to take a chance there again. The food deserves 5 stars but the poor service ruined the experience. The service that evening was a big disappointment.

It was a beautiful evening and they accommodated a switch to a table outside. The entire staff was attentive and caring. The food was amazing. I am rarely impressed but I was last Friday. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

This place gets so many things right, while giving the impression it happened effortlessly. They painted the alley floor green to make the potted trees appear more ample. The food fuses flavors from South America, India, and Southeast Asia, reminding you they inhabit the same global latitudes, and share many of the same core ingredients (cilantro and lime to name just two). Willy has got it figured out, and it shows. Best most unique meal in Provincetown (and I live here!)

We arrived a bit after 6 (maybe 6:30?…not sure…) and we were the only guests there….for the entire meal.
People….you’re missing out! I mean, it was rather nice to have the whole patio to ourselves and enjoy wonderful conversations with Todd….plus it was a Tuesday night during the sleepy start of women’s week….’cause the food here is fabulous and for this quality there should always be a line to get in.
Anyway, we started with a couple of delicious cocktails…one was a version of a mule and one had spicy tequila. They brought out olive tapenade with crunchy pita chips to start us off. We ordered the appetizer of crab and avocado-served cold in a slightly creamy herb-laden sauce. Wonderful flavors!
My main meal was the Jamaican seafood (green) curry. I love a good curry and was told that this was less spicy and more sweet-which is different than what I usually go for in a curry. (I like food that makes my face hurt). But this was definitely one of the best curries I’ve had..and the seafood was all cooked perfectly. The side of rice was available to sop up all of the remaining sauce. I loved this dish.
The other main course was from the menu…I tasted it and I loved that, too. Sorry-I can’t recall the name of the dish but it seems that’s there are no bad choices here.
Dessert was a shared piece of Mexican cheesecake. After my first bite I said, “that doesn’t suck at all”. Delicious, creamy and slightly crunchy from the thin layer of pastry on top. Coffee was great-we decided to throw brandy in one and amaretto in the other. Whipped cream? Of course.
So glad we tried Helltown Kitchen. We were told that the menu is limited but that everything is good. There were several specials to expand on the regular choices, so I found the balance to be right on target.
Eat here. You won’t be disappointed.
